The town of Pazardjik is located in South-Central Bulgaria at 205 meters above the sea level. It is situated at the distance of 114 km. south – east of Sofia, at the distance of 36 km. west of Plovdiv, at the distance of 20 km. north of Peshtera and at the distance of 43 km. south of Panagyurishte. The town is a regional center of municipality and district with the same Name.
It was founded 5 centuries ago, in 1485 and 1934 called it Tatar – Pazardjik. Tatars were its founders, moved here by Sultan Bayazid, who gave it its name. The marketing center gradually turned into an important economic and administrative center.
Pazardzhik has well developed bus and railway connections with the remaining part of the country. It is situated on the most loaded road, motorway Sofia – Plovdiv.

The municipality disposes of well developed bus and railway connections with the remaining part of the country. It is situated on the most loaded motorway Sofia – Plovdiv. Pazardjik has regular bus lines to Sofia, Plovdiv, Velingrad, Panagyurishte and to the smaller settlements in the region. The bus station (+359 34/26315) is situated in the central part of Pazardjik, at 6 “Georgi Benkovski”str. The railway station (+359 34/26520) is in the southern part of the town.
